UNRESTORED

BACK TO HOME

These are some photo's of my vehicle and parts before being restored. I bought it in December 1989 and finally finished the restoration in April 2000.

The above two photo's were taken on it's arrival on Christmas Eve 1989. It was delivered to me by my good friend John Simmons who used to run his own heavy haulage company at Rothley, Leics.

The first photo above shows the extent of the rot to the timbers, second shows one of the seats before repair and the third shows the cab interior roof during repair. The rotted metal was cut out and new welded in. All the body timber was renewed using ash for the bearers and softwood tongued and grooved for the floor and sides.

The above pictures are of Norman Young's K5 which ended it's working life as a limespreader. It is still under restoration.

The K2 on the left resides in Australia and the K2 on the right is in Holland. The K2 in Holland is owned by the original owners grandson! Both are hopefully going to be restored back to their original glory.

This photo was taken on Christmas Eve 2002 in Fuerteventura by myself. I could not find out any details about it but I could see it is fitted with the Perkins P6 diesel engine. (Must go back and see if it's still there!!)
